Meet Patricia "Patchot" Espinosa (Kathryn Bernardo). Meet Ivan Martinez (Daniel Padilla). Childhood friends. The best of friends.

Both love basketball. Both come from broken families. Patchot lives with her father (John Estrada) who runs a small "lechunan" (roasted pig shop) while Ivan lives with his mother (Arlene Muhlach) and Tita Baby (John Lapus).

Then one day Patchot, who was always just one of the boys, sees Ivan in slow motion, a sign which she believes means he is the guy for her. This makes things "complicated" in Patchot's world and believes that nothing will come out of her secret admiration for Ivan.

As if falling in love with one's best friend is not complicated enough for the boyish Patchot, her pretty cousin Angel (Liza Soberano) arrives from the US to spend summer in Cebu! Ivan sees Angel in slow motion and pursues her. This series of events makes Patchot feel even more invisible to her best friend.

But what happens when Patchot allows herself to be transformed, to learn to stop hiding and be brave enough to make a change? Will Ivan see Patchot in a different light or will she forever be his best friend, ang babaeng binibestfriend lang?
